At the request of the in-house design team, OAS specified removal of an
aged clay tile roof system to facilitate installation of new ice and
watershield membrane followed by the installation of new copper
flashings, valleys, base flashings, and gutters. In order to access all
areas, scaffolding and safety apparatus were erected as fall
protection. The final phase of the project included installation of new
treated lumber ridge poles followed by the installation of new Ludowici
glazed Spanish tile.
As the facility was
fully occupied and access could be gained only from the east elevation
front entrance of the facility, it was imperative that great care was
exercised in protecting employees and visitors of OAS.
